Microneedling

Many people that suffer from acne, scars, stretch marks and wrinkles are looking for a way to minimize them. Luckily, microneedling is a promising technique that can be used to improve these skin conditions.

What is microneedling?

Advanced skin needling technology uses multiple needles that vibrate to vertically pierce the skin, stimulating natural collagen production and creating micro channels in the skin, allowing transfer up to 80% more applied nutrients to the deeper layers of the skin.

What can I expect during microneedling?

A device called Dermapen is used to vertically pierce the skin, breaking down old collagen, causing micro-inflammation to regenerate new collagen. The process generally takes 30 - 60 minutes. You will experience some visible redness similar to sunburn after the procedure. This is when you will introduce the recommended skincare post treatment for optimum results. Microneedling is not a once-off treatment; you will need to have a few treatments depending on your individual needs.

There is little to no pain involved in treatment, so if you have a low threshold for pain, there is no need to worry. We will apply an anaesthetic cream to your skin to keep you comfortable and relaxed throughout the procedure.

The benefits of microneedling

  • Minimizes the appearance of large pores
  • Minimizes the appearance of stretch marks
  • Helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles
  • Reduces acne scars
  • Tightens and rejuvenates skin
  • Helps with hair loss and hair thinning
  • Helps improved sun damaged skin

The end result

Natural collagen formation takes a couple of weeks to months, so your skin tone and texture will gradually improve over time. The treatment is not aimed at curing any skin condition you may have- it merely improves the appearance of your skin. Microneedling is more of a management solution to maintain a smoother and clearer skin surface. The results are generally permanent or at least long-lasting.
